In some instances, the target audience will be mostly projector viewers, but generally this isn’t the case. An interface that uses a physical metaphor If metaphors are implemented tastefully, using them in your interface designs can greatly enhance the user’s experience by making the interface easier to use and learn, and generally making the experience more memorable. Narrative in Flash There are many reasons for distilling ideas into graphic and animated form in Flash. Most of them involve engaging the user on an instinctual level and using the powerful multimedia features in Flash to create a memorable interface.

DLPs, or digital light projectors, use a semiconductor chip with tiny mirrors mounted on it to project light. Each mirror represents 1 pixel, so the resolution of your projection is directly related to the complexity of the mirrors on the chip. The chip, also known as a digital micromirror device (DMD), is divided into four sectors, as shown in Figure 3-21: one for each additive primary color and one for additional brightness. The projector lamp is positioned before the DMD and shoots light through the chip as it spins to reflect the appropriate colors.
